Breakfast of champions and beach food

This may be our most Southern concoction yet (well, at least since alligator jambalaya last week). We started slow-cooking pulled pork last night at bedtime. The combination of the barbecue and intense storms spun off from the tropical depression south of us made for an interesting house to wake up to this morning.

It was supposed to be for lunch, but it turned into breakfast. Buttermilk biscuits, pulled pork, and an egg sunny-side up. Yeah, this happened and it was amazing.

We are very thankful to have our beach haunts back up and running. Here’s a take-out version of a poke bowl.

And a molcajete with an enormous chunk of Mexican cheese on the top.

And the beach, in all of its radiant glory.
